Playboy – 2002 Video Playmate Calendar [VHS]

Summer Altice has the best performance of the video, IMHO. She's gorgeous, funny, yet sexy all at the same time - a must have for all Summer fans!

Since Amazon.com doesn't have it listed, this DVD contains segments with the following Playmates: 2001 PMOY Brande Roderick, Irina Voronina, Lauren Michelle Hill, Shannon Stewart, Victoria Silvstedt, Summer Altice, Buffy Tyler, Nicole Van Croft, Neferteri Shepherd, Heather Kozar, Crista Nicole and Cara Michelle.

If ya like any of these girls, I'd definitely pick this one up. Most of the Victoria Silvstedt & Heather Kozar footage is on their PMOY DVD, but if ya want footage of the other girls, this is a must have.

There is also the familiar 'sound-a-like' music. Songs in the style of Sting and U2 are most noticeable. Usually this kind of copycat music is the kiss of death, but somehow Playboy keep getting away with it. The U2 style song in particular is so good that you wish the real U2 had recorded it. The only drawback is Playboy's continual insistance on adding a couple of (I assume) lighthearted sections, always shot in terrible bright lighting with the girls looking embarrassed at having to act so dumb. No more, please.

The highlight is the closing sequence featuring Brande Roderick as an aristocratic lady in 18th century France getting hot and bothered while clandestinely reading 'Philosophy in the Bedroom' by the Marquis de Sade. A nice touch by Playboy, guessing that most people will have never read this book, which is actually quite twisted, sexually. The whole scene has high production values with great light and dramatic effects. Unusually, the music is an orchestral piece that pounds sensuously to a climax. Ok, so the voice over of de Sade reading his work may be in an English accent instead of French (why?), but we can allow Playboy a little artistic licence. Though not to everyone's taste, as evidenced by other reviewers here, I think it's about as hot as any sequence Playboy have ever filmed.

Anyone who enjoys the dramatic element as well as shots of girls rolling around in the sand (and hey, there's plenty of that too!) will appreciate this DVD. There is also a good Anne Rice style vampire scene featuring Shannon Stewart. Despite a few minor flaws, still one of Playboy's best.
